Connecticut has licensed Quinnipiac University’s four programs at its nascent engineering school.
The State Board of Education licensed programs in civil, mechanical, industrial and software engineering, bulwarks of the Hamden university’s new School of Business and Engineering.
“We can now officially market, recruit and teach courses in our four engineering disciplines,” said Scott Hamilton, chair of engineering. “We are pretty excited about that.”
Individual engineering classes will not exceed 20 students, Hamilton said, allowing for intimate learning environments.
The university’s 6,200 full-time undergraduate and 2,300 graduate students also pursue degrees in business, communications, education, nursing and health sciences, the arts, and starting in fall 2013, medicine.
