Two division of Milford-based Affineco received the Cleaning Industry Management Standard-Green Building certification, used to help clients achieve U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED recognition.
Premier Maintenance and United Service each received the CIMS-Green Building certification from ISSA, a cleaning industry association. To achieve the certification, the companies demonstrated the core principles of quality systems; service delivery; human resources; health, safety, and environmental stewardship; and management commitment.
The extra green certification comes from commitment to sustainability, less water and energy usage, and more recycled products.
“We are acutely aware that how we clean a facility and what kinds of products we use in that facility are critically important to the health of the people who work there. We were pleased this element of cleaning was a component of the CIMS certification process,” said United Services President Paul Senecal in a statement.
