Drs. Vasco Valov and Jason Sousa, owners of PROHealth Chiropractic Center in Manchester, are in London to support and care for members of Team USA’s Olympic judo, weightlifting, wrestling and sitting volleyball teams. Valov and Sousa were selected by Orlando-based Maximized Living. The doctors have been partners with Maximized Living since 2010 and have been active members of the Wellness Advisory Council. They have also worked closely with the USA judo team as it trained for the Olympics.
Cruz On Trial Lawyer’s Board
Patricia Cruz, an attorney with the Danbury law firm Ventura, Ribeiro & Smith was recently elected to the American Association of Justice’s board of governors. Cruz is one of only three Connecticut attorneys on the board, which represents trial lawyers throughout the United States.
Consigli’s Roy Named To Board
Melissa Roy, business development associate at Consigli Construction Co. Inc. in Hartford, has been elected to the board of directors of the Professional Women in Construction Connecticut Chapter for 2012-2013. With more than a decade of experience working in the construction industry, Roy is responsible for Consigli’s project development throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. Roy has been a member of the PWC-CT since its inception in 2005. She has served as director and vice president for the National Association of Women in Construction, Chapter 165; participates annually in Rebuilding Together; and has completed a number of builds with Habitat for Humanity.
LeBlanc On Bobcat Performance Council
David LeBlanc was recently named to the 2012 Bobcat Performance Council, whose purpose is to bring together top performing Bobcat sales specialists with Bobcat company leadership to improve all aspects of Bobcat marketing, engineering, manufacturing and financial merchandising. LeBlanc has been employed with Bobcat of Connecticut in East Hartford since 2005.
VanDerLaan Authors Book Chapter
Maria Pepe VanDerLaan, a partner with Murtha Cullina LLP, recently authored a chapter of the book ‘Inside the Minds, Representing Policyholders in Insurance Cases, Leading Lawyers on Educating Clients About Insurance Contracts and Navigating Different Types of Disputes.’ VanDerLaan’s chapter, entitled “Managed Care and Reimbursement Claims: Protecting Providers from a Code Blue,” focuses on challenges surrounding the managed care relationship, and also discusses related disputes and what providers need to know in order to protect their interests. The book, which is authored by multiple C-level executives and attorneys, provides readers with insight on insurance issues policyholders will likely encounter with insurance company partners.

Farmington’s Innovative Computer Systems Inc. was recently recognized by Microsoft with two awards for marketing excellence in the Northeast Region for small and midmarket solutions and partners as well as the Entire East Region during a ceremony at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto. The Marketing Excellence awards recognize partners who constantly seek to improve their marketing processes and practices and share their expertise and ideas with others.
