Connecticut Children’s medical center in Hartford announced Monday that Bob Duncan will be its next executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Duncan, who last worked at Children’s Wisconsin as executive vice president of the hospital and president of Children’s Community Health Plan in that state, was chosen for the post at Connecticut Children’s following a national search. He begins in the job on Feb. 7, 2022.
Connecticut Children’s said Duncan has the expertise and experience needed for the post.
“We are very excited to bring such a well-regarded, dynamic and innovative leader in pediatrics to Connecticut Children’s and our region,” Connecticut Children’s President and CEO Jim Schmerling said in a statement. “Bob’s experience, expertise and enthusiasm for children will be critical to Connecticut Children’s future as we work to expand our footprint, our reach and improve our access to care for all children.”
While in Connecticut, Schmerling said Duncan will move the organization’s new five-year strategic plan forward.
Duncan received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Memphis and his MBA from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
