New Connecticut Children’s CEO and President Shannon Sullivan has been remaking her executive team, with the latest hire coming from a familiar place.

The medical center announced Tuesday it has appointed Thomas Ricci as its new executive vice president and CFO, effective Aug. 31.
Ricci joins Connecticut Children's from Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, where he most recently served as senior vice president of finance and interim chief operating officer.
Sullivan was formerly president and chief operating officer of Women & Infants before taking over as Connecticut Children’s CEO in January.
He is the third new executive to join Sullivan's team. His appointment follows the recruitment of Physician-in-Chief Dr. Rachel Stanley and Chief Legal Officer Yair Inspektor.
Ricci succeeds Bridgett Feagin, who left the position in March after four years and is now the CFO for Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Ceci Castro has served as interim CFO while a search for Feagin’s successor was conducted.
Ricci brings more than two decades of healthcare finance leadership experience, including expertise in financial planning, operational performance improvement, capital planning, physician enterprise finance and healthcare operations, officials said.
Ricci earned both his Master of Professional Accountancy and Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rhode Island College.
In his new role, he will oversee CT Children’s financial strategy, planning, budgeting, revenue integrity and related financial operations, while also serving as a strategic advisor to executive leadership.
