Connecticut Children’s Medical Center marked the opening of its $10 million Farmington ambulatory surgery center this morning by letting a 15-year-old elbow surgery patient tell her story and cut the ceremonial ribbon before heading into the operating room.
The approximately 18,000-square-foot center because of what the center says is an increased demand for pediatric surgeries in the area. The number of pediatric surgeries at Children’s has shot up in recent years, and its market share has grown.
