Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford and Baystate Medical Center in Springfield said they have forged a pediatric neurosurgery partnership.
The arrangement, which builds on an existing relationship between the providers, will send Connecticut Children’s pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Jonathan Martin to see patients at Baystate.
It will be the first time the Massachusetts provider has been able to provide pediatric neurosurgical services, including management of malformations, craniofacial surgery, neurotrauma and spinal disease.
Financial details were not disclosed.
The two hospitals said they expect to announce several other collaborations this year, including one involving research to speed discovery and treatment of pediatric conditions.
