Hartford’s Connecticut Children’s Medical Center will formally open Thursday its $1.5 million facility providing resources and support to pediatric patients’ families.
The United Technologies Family Resource Center occupies 2,000 sq. ft. on the nonprofit hospital’s second floor, next door to its new Cardiology Care Center.
Farmington manufacturing conglomerate United Technologies Corp. donated $1 million to build and equip the center, plus another $500,000 for operating/staffing costs. A dedication ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at the medical center, 282 Washington St.
With more than 300,000 patient visits annually to the 187-bed hospital, the family resource center provides a point of reference for patients and families in need of educational tools and training, officials said.
