A recent survey of 3,000 casino gamblers revealed that the greatest portion of them are members of the customer rewards programs at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.
The study, conducted in December by Phoenix Marketing International, said the Connecticut casinos each had 28 percent of the survey takers as members.
Survey interviews were conducted in proportion to population in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. Surveyors asked about rewards programs at 43 casinos and racinos in the Northeast.
The study also found that casino gamblers place the most importance on free-play offerings, dining discounts, and complimentary hotel rooms.
Of secondary importance were free self-parking and tickets to casino events.
To qualify, respondents had to have gambled at a casino or racino three or more times in 2013 and belong to one or more casino players club programs.
