Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Resort Casino on Tuesday again reported a slight dip in December slot revenues.
Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) said it recorded over $49.7 million in slot revenue last month, down less than a percent compared to the $50 million it recorded in Dec. 2017.
The amount slot bettors wagered in December, known as the “handle,” was $632.9 million, up about $3.2 million vs. the $629.7 million wagered in the year-ago period.
MGE, which provides 25 percent of its slot profits to Connecticut, said it contributed over $12.4 million to the state’s general fund last month.
The slight dip in slot revenues last month represents Mohegan’s smallest year-over-year drop since MGM Springfield’s first full month in operation in September.
Also Tuesday, Foxwoods said it netted $37 million in slot revenue in December, down 5.2 percent from the $39 million it recorded in the year-ago period.
The handle was $473.1 million, also down 1.5 percent from the $480.4 million wagered in the same month in 2017.
Foxwoods said it contributed $9.6 million to the state last month.
The Mashantucket-based casino has recorded year-over-year decreases in slot revenues each month since July.
