A Connecticut shorelilne auto dealer has signed on as a title sponsor for the 2010 regional modified auto racing season that opens later this month in Waterford.
Bob Valenti AutoMall.com, operator of franchise new-car dealerships in New London, will again back the regional Modified Racing Series, said Jack Bateman, series founder and president.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Family-owned Valenti Automall.com has backed racing for nearly 20 years for the exposure it gives its dealerships in Connecticut and Rhode Island, said Vice President Rob Valenti.
Valenti AutoMall.com is separate from the Valenti Auto Group, which operates nine Connecticut dealerships, including three in Hartford.
The racing series features open-wheel modified cars competing in 19 races at Northeast tracks, including Stafford Springs and Waterford.
The season launches in Waterford on March 27 and 28, with a 100-lap race at Waterford Speedbowl.
