CT Bob’s Furniture shows its heart for D.C.

Manchester home-furnishings vendor Bob’s Discount Furniture is opening two stores outside the nation’s capital on Valentine’s Day, bringing 50 jobs to that area’s economy.

Bob’s says the two new retail furniture stores in Fairfax, Va., and Waldorf, Md., will be its fourth and fifth D.C.-area locations it has opened since 2011. The company opened that year in Hyattsville and Rockville, Md., and Falls Church, Va.

Colleen Wood, area manager for Bob’s mid-Atlantic region, is the acting store manager for Bob’s new 35,489-square-foot Fairfax store in the Greenbriar Shopping Center at 13055A Lee Jackson Memorial Highway.

Maurice McKisset, who previously managed the company’s Hyattsville, Md., store, will manage the new 30,103-square-foot Waldorf store, at 3015 Festival Way.
