The Connecticut Better Business Bureau and its affiliates nationwide are warning firms to avoid a spam email that fraudulently claims to contain complaint information from them.
Businesses across the country have been receiving a spam e-mail purporting to be from the regarding a complaint and referencing a complaint ID#. These e-mails are spam with virus potential, the agency said Wednesday.
BBB warns that if you receive this e-mail, do not click on any links, open attachments or reply to the e-mail. Instead delete the e-mail completely from your computer. If you have clicked on links, opened attachments or replied to the e-mail, delete the e-mail and run a virus scan.
BBB says its lawyers are working to track down what is happening and will take appropriate action to protect its trademark.
