CT-based pizza chain to deliver 10th location in Shelton

Colony Grill, a Fairfield-based pizza chain that was founded in 1935 in Stamford, plans to open its 10th location in Shelton.

Colony Grill Development LLC, the chain’s parent company, on Thursday got approval from the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission to open its latest restaurant in a space formerly occupied by a Burger King outlet, at 902 Bridgeport Ave., in Shelton Square Shopping Center.

It isn’t clear when the new restaurant is expected to open in Shelton.

The restaurant will have 123 seats in its dining room and another 17 seats at a bar inside the establishment, according to plans filed with the city. It will also have a takeout area and an outdoor patio.
