Stamford-based Kayak, an online travel search platform that aggregates flights, hotels and rental cars, has launched a new conversational travel planning tool as demand rises ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
The feature, called Ask AI, lets users plan trips through a chat interface, with flight, hotel and rental car options updating in real time. The company said it combines conversational search with its existing booking tools.
The rollout comes as travel tied to the tournament increases. Kayak data shows flight searches to U.S. host cities are up 23% from last summer, with prices and availability expected to shift in the coming months.
Ask AI allows users to enter requests in natural language, refine itineraries and compare updated pricing from multiple travel providers without restarting searches or switching tabs.
Kayak is also launching a dashboard tracking World Cup-related travel trends, using its search and pricing data to show changes in demand and costs.
Early data shows Kansas City as a fast-growing destination, with flight searches up 168% year over year. Hotel prices are also rising across host markets, increasing 36% in the U.S., 55% in Canada and 119% in Mexico. International interest is led by travelers from Germany, the United Kingdom and Colombia searching for flights to the U.S.
Kayak is part of Booking Holdings, a publicly traded travel services company.
