CT awards $169K to Shoreline Greenway

The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection has awarded $168,938 to develop a section of The Shoreline Greenway Trail in Madison, eventually taking users 25 miles along Long Island Sound.

The Shoreline Greenway Trail is a nonprofit that has worked since 2003 to build the thruway from Hammonasset State Park in Madison to Lighthouse Point on New Haven Harbor.

The DEEP funds will be used to establish the eastern-most trail head for the greenway and connect is to the Hammonasset State Park trail system.

The $168,938 comes from the Connecticut Recreational Trails Program, which administers the Federal Highway Administration trails funds.
