Three Connecticut communities and regions will share in the $12.6 million the federal government has allocated to clean up and restore brownfield sites in New England.
In Waterbury, New Opportunities Economic Development Corp. is getting $600,000 in three cleanup grants for Cherry Street parcels.
Also, the Police Activity League of Waterbury Inc. will get $400,000 in two grants to clean Division Street parcels.
The City of Stratford was allocated a $400,000 community-wide assessment grant.
Finally, the Valley Council of Governments which covers communities in the lower Naugatuck Valley  will get $500,000 in supplemental funds for its community-wide revolving loan fund.
