A Fairfield-based, private equity-backed air transportation design and engineering firm has acquired a Spanish consultancy specializing in airport business operations and technology.
BNP Group has purchased Airport Gurus, a Barcelona-based company that provides information and communications technology services and airport operations planning for aviation clients worldwide. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
BNP said the acquisition will allow it to offer expanded information technology and airport operations planning services while strengthening its global footprint, particularly in Europe and South America.
Founded in 2013, Airport Gurus focuses on digital transformation of legacy airport systems and the implementation of smart technologies. The firm operates offices in Barcelona and Madrid, as well as locations in South America and the United States, and has worked on airport projects across Europe, the Middle East, North America and South America, BNP said.
BNP Group is majority-owned by Godspeed Capital, a Washington, D.C.-based private equity firm focused on defense and government services.
