The state’s Department of Consumer Protection is increasing enforcement of efforts to combat underage drinking, it announced.
The agency’s liquor control division has already kicked off its round of summer compliance checks with visits to two Alive at 5 concerts at the Comcast Theatre in Stamford.
“We plan to be present at other entertainment venues throughout the summer, while stepping up our routine compliance checks as well,” Commissioner BLANK Rubenstein said in a statement. “We can all do more to prevent the needless tragedies related to underage drinking.”
Last year, the DCP conducted 800 compliance checks at restaurants, bars, package stores and other venues, resulting in 270 temporary suspensions of liquor permits.
