Connecticut Agriculture Commissioner Steven K. Reviczky has taken a leadership role that he says gives the state a direct voice in national agricultural policy.
Reviczky was unanimously elected to serve as the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) association’s secretary/treasurer for 2015 at its annual meeting in Burlington, Vt.
He is now automatically set to ascend through the association’s board of director positions, becoming president in 2018.
He said his role will be critical as issues such as Farm Bill implementation, continued development of the Food Safety Modernization Act, changes in dairy-support programs, agricultural labor, truck weights and other matters continue to be addressed.
