Data processing giant Computer Sciences Corp., with operations in East Hartford, closed its $189 million purchase of an Australian information technology firm specializing in the health sector.
CSC, based in Falls Church, Va., announced its deal to acquire iSOFT Group Ltd., of Sydney, in April.
CSC said the deal puts under its IT umbrella one of the world’s largest providers of advanced healthcare IT solutions.
iSOFT has 3,000 global employees stationed, among other places, in India, Spain, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Central Europe.
More than 13,000 healthcare providers and governments in 40 countries use iSOFT’s e-health software solutions to manage patient information and drive improvements in their core processes, CSC said.
