Bloomfield’s Metropolitan Learning Center for International and Global Studies has been accredited as an International Baccalaureate World School, authorities say.
The Capitol Region Education Council runs the grades-six-to-12 magnet school at 1551 Blue Hills Ave.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) certification covers the magnet school’s five-year, global-studies program for grades six to 10 covering eight subjects, including proficiency in a second language.
The program prepares students for an IB diploma or other rigorous courses in grades 11 to 12.
CREC spokeswoman Julia Case said the school is pursuing IB diploma certification.
