The Capitol Region Education Council has been awarded a two-year contract to train area teachers about clean energy and efficiency.
Electric utilities Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating awarded CREC the contract as part of its eesmarts program, designed to facilitate students’ learning of science, math, and technology as it relates to energy use and sustainability.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
CREC will offer free workshops at various locations throughout the two years to teachers and administrators on various energy-related topics, such as climate change.
