The newly formed Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has launched a national search for its first executive director.
The quasipublic agency is formerly the Capital City Economic Development Authority, which was headed by Jame Abromaitis.
“It is critical that CRDA be aggressive about attracting new business and improving commerce in the capital region,” said Board Chair Suzanne Hopgood said in a statement Tuesday.
According to the job description, the winning candidate will be “responsible for stimulating new investment and diversifying the economy in and around Hartford, CRDA pursues development and redevelopment of property and housing, attracts conventions and trade shows, increases tourism, and builds collaborative relationships with existing businesses, city leaders, and cultural organizations. CRDA will oversee and manage the Adriaen’s Landing District, Rentschler Field, and the XL Center.
Pay is between $150,000 and $225,000, a CRDA spokeswoman said.
