The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) is working with a non-theater tenant to take over 39 Front St. in Hartford after the surprise closing of Apple Cinemas Luxury Dine In last week, officials said.
Michael Freimuth, executive director of the quasi-public CRDA, on Friday confirmed the movie theater franchise closed its Front Street location last week. The theater posted a sign in its window announcing the closure and the franchise website no longer lists the Front Street location.
Friemuth said he couldn’t disclose details about the future of the property but confirmed the CRDA is working with a new possible, non-theater tenant to occupy the site.
Apple Cinemas still operates a theater on New Park Avenue in Hartford and in Simsbury, Torrington and Waterbury.
