Cable television provider Cox Communications reached an agreement Wednesday with the parent company of WTNH and WCTX in New Haven to continue carrying those stations, The Waterbury Republican-American reports.
The agreement in principle with Lin Media Corp. of Providence, R.I., came just a day before the end of the current retransmission consent agreement, the newspaper said on its website.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the agreement means Cox subscribers in Connecticut will continue to receive programming from WTNH-Channel 8, the state’s ABC affiliate, and WCTX-Channel 9, also known as MyTV9, the state’s MyNetworkTV affiliate.
Both stations are based in New Haven.
