Cox Communications said its operations centers in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Ohio are aiming to eliminate by 2020 all landfill waste they generate.
The Cox facilities — which comprise its “Northeast Region” — will conduct a study of their waste streams to determine how much and what kinds of their trash are being sent to landfills.
The facilities have already implemented energy-saving measures, including recycling and composting all paper, cardboard, plastics and food products. They also have solar power, HVAC and boiler control systems and other efficient equipment.
