Irish drug and medical device maker Covidien PLC, which operates a surgical-tools plant in North Haven, is raising its quarterly dividend by 11 percent to 20 cents from 18 cents.
Covidien is also boosting its annual dividend rate to 80 cents from 72 cents.
Covidien said the dividend is payable Nov. 8 to shareholders of record on Oct. 4.
