An item in HBJ Today this morning reported an announcement from the office of Gov. M Jodi Rell that she had signed into law a measure banning the steering of auto repair work. Rell’s office has retracted the press release.
The bill the governor signed does not ban steering of auto repair work, as the Auto Body Association of Connecticut has been asking. Instead, the new law permits automobile repairers and dealers to charge for certain Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) inspections.
