Corporate culture shocking to new hires

Recent college graduates and new hires have a bit of a hard time fitting in at new advertising and marketing jobs, according to results of a recent The Creative Group survey.

The survey asked advertising and marketing executives what they thought was the greatest challenge to a new staff person just starting out in the field. Forty-two percent said acclimating to the “corporate culture” was most difficult. Another 30 percent said learning new business protocols was most challenging.

The Creative Group, an international temporary staffing agency that focuses on the advertising and marketing sector, said communicating well with managers, remembering manners and tuning one’s work ethic to that of the company can help employees fit in.
