Corelogic: CT foreclosure inventory declining as completions increase

The percentage of mortgaged Connecticut homes somewhere in the foreclosure process was 2.5 percent in September, down from 3.7 percent a year prior, according to Corelogic.

That means Connecticut has the sixth-highest foreclosure inventory in the country.

The decline in the foreclosure inventory comes as the number of foreclosures completed picks up steam, the company said. There were 5,448 foreclosures completed in Connecticut between Oct. 2013 and Sept. 2014. That’s up from 4,044 in the prior-year period.

Meanwhile, the rate of seriously delinquent borrowers has also fallen over the past year, from 6.7 percent to 5.7 percent.
