Coracora restaurant to open Dec. 10 in Blue Back Square

Coracora, the award-winning Peruvian restaurant in West Hartford, has announced it will open its new flagship location in Blue Back Square next week.

The location at 51 Isham Road was formerly occupied by Rosa Mexicano restaurant, which closed early in 2024. Coracora subsequently announced in May last year that it would relocate its flagship restaurant to Blue Back Square.

Restaurant officials said Thursday that the new location will have a soft opening on Dec. 10 that will run through the beginning of January.

The establishment will offer a full menu with limited seating for dinner Wednesdays through Fridays from 5 to 11 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., they said.

The flagship relocated from its original location at 162 Shield St. That location remains open as a “fast casual” restaurant.

The new space is nearly 6,000 square feet, with the interior designed by Connecticut-based atelier Arkay-Leliever LLC. It has a private dining area, 190 indoor seats and a 41-seat outdoor seasonal patio.

The Blue Back Square location also includes a full bar, which the original location does not have. Coracora said it worked with Peruvian beverage consultant and mixologist Luis Flores to develop a bar menu that is “modern, fun and culturally grounded, balancing authenticity, technique and personality.”
