A New Haven-based real estate investment group recently paid $3.85 million for the 46-unit “Artspace” apartment building on one corner of downtown Hartford.
In a deed recorded May 29, Artspace Hartford LP sold the four-story, glass-and-masonry apartment building at 555 Asylum St., to another limited liability company operated by the New Haven Group.
The buying LLC’s principal is Steven K. Inglese, a veteran commercial real estate developer who founded the New Haven Group.
The 1910-vintage industrial building was converted in 1997 into housing and gallery space for artists, according to the buyer.
Today, one-, two- and three-bedroom lofts are 100% affordable under a low-income housing tax credit agreement.
The principal of the seller is a limited liability company whose principals are Tamara Kagan Levine, of Bloomfield and Sara R. Shapiro, of Houston, Texas.
