Convention Center reshapes sales team

The Connecticut Convention Center has named two to its national sales team.

Anissa Ladd becomes senior national sales manager, responsible for regional markets, developing new business within Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Texas, and Wisconsin. She will also handle the market segments of manufacturing, construction, engineering and sports.

She has been with Waterford for ten years and has represented the Connecticut Convention Center since 2006, most recently serving as a national sales manager. During this time, she proved very successful, earning a Waterford Sales Champion Award in 2010 and a Waterford President’s Award in 2011 and 2012.

Michael Mulcahy becomes national sales manager, responsible for booking national association convention business that will utilize multiple hotels in the market as well as offsite venues.

He comes to the Convention Center from the Starwood Hotels & Resorts where, since 2005, he served as a sales manager for the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel located in Atlanta, Ga. He also has held sales positions with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts for the Mid-Atlantic region, Sandcastle Hotels and Resorts in Alexandria, VA, the Sheraton City Centre Hotel in Washington D.C, and the Hilton Hotel Corp. at various locations throughout the country.

The Hartford facility features 140,000 square feet of exhibition space, a 40,000-square-foot ballroom and 25,000 square feet of meeting space. It is owned by the state of Connecticut and is managed by Waterford Venue Services, with headquarters in Waterford.
