Convention Center donates

The Connecticut Convention Center donated $1,250 to The Open Hearth, a temporary residential community serving homeless men in Greater Hartford. The organization has been assisting local men since 1884 by offering employment training, transitional life skills classes, and job placement with business in the Hartford area, including the Convention Center. “Many of our men have been able to get back on their feet by working at the Convention Center,” explained Marilyn E. Rossetti, executive director of The Open Hearth accepted the donation Rossetti. The donation — and another $1,250 given to the Hartford Culinary Arts Academy — was made on behalf of voluntary contributions from more than 200 associates at the Convention Center as part of the Waterford Group Charitable Foundation, a private foundation that seeks to support the communities in which associates of Waterford Group and its affiliates live and work. Waterford Venue Services manages the Connecticut Convention Center. Pictured are Rossetti and Michael Costelli, general manager at the Connecticut Convention Center.
