German consumer brands giant Henkel has appointed Rajat Agarwal as president of Henkel North America, based in Connecticut.
Agarwal was previously corporate vice president of packaging at Henkel Adhesive Technologies, and has also served as president of Henkel Greater China.
The company’s brands include Dial soap, Loctite adhesives, Purex sanitizers and Schwartzkopf hair care.
It has its North American headquarters in Rocky Hill and its consumer brands headquarters in Stamford. Agarwal will continue to be based in Bridgewater, New Jersey, which is the main office of one of Henkel’s adhesive technologies business units.
“I am honored to take on this new role at Henkel after 28 years with the company,” Agarwal said. “Alongside my fellow leaders and our colleagues across the United States and Canada, I look forward to continuing to build on our strong position in North America, Henkel’s largest
global market.”
Agarwal succeeds Pernille Lind Olsen, who left the company to become CEO of a consumer packaging company in her native Denmark. She had been with Henkel since 2022.
Agarwal holds a Ph.D. in polymer science from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.
