Construction under way on medical center in Orange

Workers this month began building the new Racebrook Medical Center at 235 Boston Post Rd.  in Orange.

It is slated to open in the third quarter of 2023, and will house medical offices of Connecticut Orthopaedics and Hartford Healthcare.

Connecticut Orthopaedics has locations throughout southern Connecticut, including two in Orange, at 330 and 464 Boston Post Road.

Plans are for its two existing Orange locations to move to this new facility once it opens. The center will offer patients a range of orthopedic services, including urgent care, imaging and physical therapy.

Susan Bader, CEO of Connecticut Orthopaedics, said of the new construction, “We are thrilled to be expanding our commitment to our patients in Orange and surrounding communities with a larger, more comprehensive facility.”

“This will allow us to provide care to even more patients and get them back to the activities they enjoy,” Bader added.

According to Connecticut Orthopaedics, its practice at the new Orange location will be staffed by more than 15 board-certified orthopedic surgeons with specialties ranging from sports medicine, foot and ankle, hand and upper extremity, hip, knee, shoulder and spine to joint replacement.

Hartford Healthcare, which is also currently located at a smaller office in Orange, will be a co-tenant in the medical center building.

The developer, Gary Richetelli, principal of Commercial Development Company, said the new building will be a “beautiful addition to the Boston Post Road landscape and the medical center will service Orange and the surrounding areas nicely.”
