The Construction Institute at the University of Hartford on Thursday will honor its long-time founding executive director at a special event in Portland.
William Cianci retired from the industry promotion and education organization on Dec. 31 after serving there for 28 years. Nancy Greewald took over as executive director on Jan. 19.
The event for Cianci will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. at St. Clements Castle in Portland. In addition to honoring Cianci, the event also is a fundraiser for the William H. Cianci Scholarship Fund.
