Connecticut Science Center, Aetna launch STEM workforce partnership

The Connecticut Science Center and Hartford health insurer Aetna have launched a multiyear partnership focused on expanding STEM education and workforce development programs across Connecticut.

Under the agreement announced Thursday, Aetna, a CVS Health company, will serve as the lead sponsor of the Science Center’s STEM Career Connections initiatives through 2030.

As part of the initiative, the organizations launched a new AI STEM Career Zone during the Science Center’s STEM Career Showcase held May 15 in Hartford. The exhibit is intended to introduce students to careers involving artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

Connecticut Science Center President and CEO Matt Fleury said the partnership will help expand workforce development programming and expose more students to high-growth industries.

Aetna employees will also receive free general admission to the Science Center as part of the collaboration.
