Hartford-based Connecticut Public, the state’s public media organization and operator of Connecticut Public Television and Connecticut Public Radio, has named longtime executive Lauren Komrosky as its next president and CEO.
Komrosky, the organization’s current chief digital officer, will succeed outgoing President and CEO Mark G. Contreras on June 29. Contreras announced his retirement in January after leading the public media organization since 2019.
Komrosky has worked at Connecticut Public since 2015, holding several leadership positions. As chief digital officer, she oversees the organization’s digital, membership and marketing operations.
According to Connecticut Public, Komrosky has helped expand the organization’s digital presence across more than 66 platforms while contributing to audience and revenue growth.
The appointment follows a national search conducted by Connecticut Public’s board of trustees.
Board Chair-elect Catalina Samper-Horak said Komrosky’s institutional knowledge and leadership experience positioned her to guide the organization’s next phase of growth.
Contreras will remain involved in an advisory role through November to assist with the leadership transition.
A Connecticut native, Komrosky lives in West Hartford and holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Villanova University. She has also served in leadership and advisory roles with the Public Broadcasting Service and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
