Connecticut Paid Leave

Starting in January, Connecticut workers will begin to see a change in their paychecks.

Your contribution now leads to peace of mind later.

Dear Fellow Connecticut Residents,

While many of you know me as the CEO of CT Paid Leave, I am also a mother, wife, and caregiver. Like you, I wear many hats, and I understand the demands on Connecticut workers.

As the inaugural CEO of CT Paid Leave and alongside a committed Board of Directors and a dedicated team, I am partnering with our legislative, business and community leaders to ensure employers and workers have the resources and support they need to promote healthy, vibrant and inclusive workplaces. As this new program affects nearly all Connecticut workers and employers, I encourage you to stay informed about the paid leave program by following us on social media @ctpaidleave or visiting our user-friendly website, ctpaidleave.org.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • This month, the CT Paid Leave Authority began enrolling employers, self-employed individuals and sole proprietors in the CT Paid Leave program, which will fund benefits for eligible workers.
  • On January 1, 2021, employee payroll deductions of one half of one percent (0.5%) will begin. These deductions are being used to provide peace of mind for covered workers.
  • On January 1, 2022, workers in Connecticut will be able to apply for benefits, allowing them to take time off from work to attend to personal and family health needs.
