The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History has appointed a new executive director and CEO.
Ilene J. Frank takes over from Robert A. Kret, who is retiring after seven years of leading the institution.
The museum is a private, nonprofit organization established in 1825 in the west end of Hartford. It houses exhibitions, a library and a research center, and serves more than 64,000 visitors annually.
Frank has been at the museum for a decade, serving most recently as deputy executive director and chief strategy officer. She will lead a staff of 55 and oversee a $5 million budget.
She’ll be tasked with diversifying the museum’s revenue streams and building on its current strategic plan.
“There are many exciting plans and projects in development, and I look forward to leading these efforts to fruition,” Frank said.
