More than a year after selling its showroom building in West Hartford, Connecticut Home Interiors will close for good later this year.
The independent, high-end home furnishing company announced its intent to close on Thursday, the same day a final liquidation sale began.
The business, owned by Tom Hall, has been located at 830 Farmington Ave., since 1983.
The decision to close comes more than 15 months after Hall sold the building for $2.4 million last May. The buyer was his listing agent, Michael Guidicelli of Regions Commercial Real Estate Advisors, who acquired the property under the business name 830 Kinslei LLC.
The building is one story but has a loft/mezzanine level and basement storage. Combined, the space is about 54,000 square feet. The sale included 0.68 acres of land.
The sale included an agreement for the furniture store to lease the property for at least one year.
Guidicelli also owns the property adjacent to Connecticut Home Interiors, at 820 Farmington Ave., a 12,140-square-foot mixed-use office building he acquired for $525,000 in February 2022. He has not said what he plans to do with the two properties.
