In response to news that the University of Connecticut had illegally misallocated state funds, Connecticut First Coalition is calling for an audit of the school’s budget process.
The school has been accused of breaking state law when it shifted construction money between accounts without approval. A UConn construction committee member was the first to call for an independent audit, but now, Connecticut First Coalition is backing up his efforts.
The coalition is made up of contractors, trade organizations and business, political and community leaders. Its mission is to fight the misuse of taxpayer dollars on public and private projects where state and federal funds are used.
