Tradition is a funny thing, especially in an ever-changing world.
Connecticut’s family businesses are rooted in tradition, with foundations that can go back generations. Yet, each of these businesses must respond to a shifting market and build revenue in an economy that is increasingly complex.
For Hartford Business Journal’s inaugural Family Business Awards, we honored companies that deftly responded to changing industry conditions while remaining true to their family values. Whether they developed new products, found new customers, or stayed the course while growing market share, our winners and finalists found the proper mix where tradition meets reality.
All of the winners were announced and the finalists honored at a special ceremony on Oct. 17. To see profiles of all the winners and finalists, view the digital edition.
