Connecticut Children’s developing research institute

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center said it has hired a pediatrics researcher to lead the develop a new Health Services Research Institute.

Dr. Glenn Flores joined CCMC as chief research officer from the University of Minnesota, where he was chair of health policy research. CCMC has charged him with promoting and expanding the the hospital’s research enterprise.

He will be responsible for assembling a team of physician researchers who will lead studies focused on healthcare outcomes, value and patient-centered care, according to CCMC spokeswoman Monica Buchanan.

Details of the institute are still being developed in terms of timing, hiring, cost and areas of research focus, she said.
