ConnectiCare to offer plans on CT’s small biz exchange

Farmington-based ConnectiCare has announced it will offer plans on Connecticut’s Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) exchange, offered through Access Health CT, in 2018.

The SHOP exchange offers health plans to employers with 50 or fewer full-time employees. In 2017, there was only one insurance carrier offering plans through the SHOP exchange, Anthem.

Access Health CT Small Business is Connecticut’s official health insurance marketplace for small businesses, established to satisfy the requirements of the Affordable Care Act.

“We’re excited to have ConnectiCare on board as another option for small businesses to provide healthcare coverage for their employees in 2018,” said Jim Wadleigh, CEO at Access Health CT. Offering a variety of coverage options goes a long way in keeping our small businesses more productive, happier and healthier.”
