A Connecticut education advocacy group has singled out five state lawmakers it says made meaningful education reform a priority.
ConnCAN says it awarded its 2011 Tip of the Cap award to: Senators Toni Harp (D-New Haven) and Senator Andrew Roraback (R-Goshen); and Representatives  Gary Holder-Winfield (D-New Haven), Gail Lavielle (R-Wilton), and Toni Walker (D-New Haven).
“In a year when the legislature was focused primarily on the state budget, these policy makers demonstrated their ongoing commitment to closing Connecticut’s worst-in-the-nation achievement gap,” Alex Johnston, ConnCAN’s CEO, said in a statement.
