Wallingford energy efficient auditor Competitive Resources Inc. started selling its Home Energy Solutions program out of three Connecticut Best Buy stores.
Customers at Best Buys in West Hartford, Newington and Manchester can sign up for the HES program to have energy audits come to their homes and find places where energy efficiency can be improved. Customers also can sign up for their service through CRI or any other energy audit firm in Connecticut.
The HES program is funded by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, which obtains the money from ratepayer bills from electric utilities Connecticut Light & Power of Berlin and United Illuminating of New Haven.
The program costs a $75 co-pay, and customers receive $725 in services and save $200 off their energy bills annually.
