The U.S. Department of Energy honored Wallingford efficiency provider Competitive Resources, Inc. with the Energy Star Century Club Award for energy efficiency audits.
CRI was one of 86 companies nationwide to receive the award for improving the energy efficiency of more than 100 homes in the past year.
Like other similar companies, CRI audits homes for energy efficiency, switching out light bulbs, sealing cracks in doors and windows, and making recommendations for larger improvements such as equipment upgrades and insulation.
CRI is one of a handful of Connecticut energy efficiency companies certified to work with the state’s Home Energy Solutions program, which is a partnership with the state’s utilities to provide energy audits to homeowners for a $75 copay.
